We support the incredible work of the following organizations:

STOP AAPI HATE

In response to the alarming escalation in xenophobia and bigotry resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, the center tracks and responds to incidents of hate, violence, harassment, discrimination, shunning, and child bullying against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in the United States. Their approach recognizes that in order to effectively address anti-Asian racism we must work to end all forms of structural racism leveled at Black, Indigenous, and other communities of color.

HATE IS A VIRUS

Hate Is A Virus is a nonprofit community of mobilizers and amplifiers that exists to dismantle racism and hate.  It was started as a movement in April 2020 in response to the rise in hate crimes against AAPI due to the pandemic.

ASIAN WOMEN LEAD

AAPI Women Lead and  #ImReady Movement aims to strengthen the progressive political and social platforms of Asian and Pacific Islander communities in the US through the leadership of self-identified AAPI women and girls.  Their goal is to challenge and help end the intersections of violence against and within AAPI communities and to do this work in solidarity with other communities of color.

ASIAN AMERICAN RACIAL JUSTICE TOOLKIT

This toolkit reflects our analysis of the interconnectedness of issues and constituencies within the structures of white supremacy and includes 15 modules spanning Asian American Identity, Model Minority Myth, Gender & Patriarchy, White Supremacy, Race & Working Class + Immigrant Struggles, For Black Lives, Colonialism, & Islamo-Racism.

“We know that this is long-term work and requires transformational organizing to make racial justice a reality. The importance of Asian American grassroots organizing lies in the urgency of building the ranks of people across race who are engaged in the long-term struggle toward a different future, toward freedom and democracy for all of humanity.”

COMPASSION IN OAKLAND

Compassion in Oakland was formed in response to the surge of anti-Asian attacks -- particularly in California’s Bay Area.  Started by Jacob Azevedo, CIO provides volunteers to chaperone anyone within Oakland’s Chinatown neighborhood to help them feel safer.  Their mission is to strive to provide the Oakland Chinatown Community with a resource for promoting safety and community. We aim to embrace the often forgotten, underserved, and vulnerable. We promote compassion not indifference, unity as opposed to divisiveness. Fostering a more caring and safer Oakland for all.
